Hearing Professionals of Illinois is a full service audiological facility, affiliated with Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists of Illinois. Our patients receive the most comprehensive care through our team approach to treating their audiological needs. The physician provides medical examinations and treatment when necessary. The audiologist provides diagnostic testing and counseling or rehabilitative services to meet the patient’s needs. There is an audiologist available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
We stress patient education. This is especially important for our potential hearing aid patients. We ensure that our patients have a good understanding of the nature of their hearing loss, teach them coping strategies to hear at their best, inform them of the key ingredients of a successful hearing instrument fitting, and help them determine when it is appropriate to pursue hearing aids.
We have accounts with all of the major hearing instrument companies so that we can order the most appropriate product for each individual patient. After the hearing aids have been dispensed, we provide comprehensive counseling and training, as the patient goes through the important processes of adapting to their new hearing instruments.
A good relationship between the patient and the audiologist is critical to having a successful outcome with hearing aids. We realize that the prospect of having hearing loss and getting hearing aids can be overwhelming, both emotionally and functionally. Not only are we there to provide technical skills, but also to educate and lend the emotional support necessary to achieve success.
